OBITUARY

  Funeral services were held Saturay
morning at 10:30 at the Assumption
Catholic church at Emsley
for 85-yeqr-old Mrs. Kate (Chatherine)
Crampton who died February 4 at
the home of her daughter, Mrs, Val
(Mary Ellen Mae Crampton) Heinz.
The Rev. John Duffy officiated
at a requiem high mass. Interment
was made in the parish cemetery.

  Born in Kooksockey (Coxsackie)
N.Y., Oct. 1852, the daughter of
John and Catherine (McDonald) Anglum;
the family moved to Delaware county, IA.,
and from there to Sac county. In 1880
Kate Anglum came to South Dakota
where she filed a homestead
Southwest of Mttchell as one of the
first pioneers. She was married to
Phillip Crampton at St. Patrick
church of Star on Sept. 22, 1886 and
to this union were born two children.
Since the death of her husband
on June l2, l9l9, she has
made her home with her daughters
spending the summers  with  her
daughter, Mrs. (Katherine Kit) Leo
Vander-May of Wamblee and the winters
with her daughter, Mrs, Val Heinz. For
the last year her strength has failed
steadily. She was able to be about
until a little over a week before her
death and discussed the news and
visted with the family until within
a few hours of her death. She was
always patient and reigned to the
infirmities of old age and very
reluctant to burden those about her.
The end came peacefully last Thursday
morning as she slept quietly
away and passed to her reward. She
Survived by her daughters, Mrs.
Leo Vander-May of Wamblee, and
Mrs. Val Heinz of Dimock and  12
grandchildren.

  DIES AT THE FARM HOME.

Mrs. Will Crampton
     Mrs. Will Crampton, mother of
Mrs. Val Heinz, eight miles south-
west Ethan, died early Thursday
Morning.

     Funeral Serives are in charge of
the H. Noble  and Son funeral home.
Arrangements for services have not
been completered.
