Joseph is a younger brother to Carl Sommer, and Magdelena (Mary) is the youngest daughter of Josef Zwinger, aunt of Mathias (Matt) Zwinger, father of Arnold Zwinger.

This family ended up moving out to Washington State and that is where they are buried.
