Louis is an older brother to Carl Sommer. He passed away in 1920.
Carl's wife Elizabeth (Thuringer) passed away in 1938.

Back in those days, what happened next was normal, sometimes expect. Carl married Louie's widow, Elizabeth Janisch, about 1940.

Once Carl passed away, Elizabeth moved back to Eden, South Dakota until she went home to the Lord in 1956.

Yes, the last name is spelled correctly. In Eden, they added the S on the end.
